Financial Literacy Workshops Series held in the library


January 23rd

Money Wise

An interactive workshop on the wise use of money. This includes budgeting systems, principles of setting up a spending plan and tracking spending. Students will enjoy the hand-on segment of this workshop where they get to work in small groups to design a college budget. This workshop is best for high school juniors, seniors and adults.


February 13th

1:15 - 2:45

Fraud Prevention

Just as the title says, this workshop is designed to teach the participants how to protect themselves from financial fraud. The information is a real eye-opener to the students who attend. This workshop is best for high school freshman through college seniors and adults.


April 3rd

1:15 – 2:45

Credit Wise

A fun and eye-opening workshop designed to teach the basics of credit, credit reports and credit scores. Along with the basic information, we also debunk credit myths. This workshop is best for high school sophomores through college seniors and adults.


April 10th

1:15 – 2:45

Wise Up

This is the EECU signature workshop that is designed for high school seniors through college seniors. This workshop is presented in the “Reality Fair” format where students select a pretend job for the day and make grown-up decisions about housing, transportation, clothing, food, entertainment and other expenses adults budget for every month. This is a dynamic and free-flowing learning experience conducted on site.
